What is myofunctional therapy, and does my child need it?

Myofunctional therapy focuses on how the muscles of the mouth and face function. If your child has habits like mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, or difficulty with oral posture, this therapy may help.

I primarily work with infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and teenagers, but services may vary depending on individual needs.I also love working with adults who are undergoing jaw corrective surgery or who have orthodontic regression

No. I currently do not take insurance. I have various private pay rates, with discounted packages, in addition to an option of offering a Superbill that you may use at your discretion for potential insurance reimbursements

When you choose private pay therapy, you are saying “yes!” to the services your child needs. When you get therapy through your insurance, insurance companies dictate what services you get. They may also limit the frequency and number of services your child can receive. Private pay therapy means a trained and certified speech-language pathologist will recommend exactly what your child needs. No red tape, no limitations, just the best services available.

Sessions typically last 30-45 minutes depending on your child’s needs.

Every child is different. Some benefit from short-term support, while others may need ongoing therapy.

For children who are 8 and older and are only receiving myofunctional therapy, the timeframe is about 3 months of weekly services.
